In thinking about membership, it is also important to know that there are four types of individual members:

Professional Member ($80):
Must hold a license in Idaho as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

Professional Members of ICA may run for and hold ICA-elected offices or be committee chairpersons.

Associate Member ($48):
Any person who works in a closely related mental health field, but does not hold a master’s degree in counseling and/or does not have a license to practice as a Counselor in the State of Idaho.

Student Member ($40):
Must be enrolled half-time or more in a counseling program.

Student Members cannot run for or hold ICA-elected offices or chair committees (Doctoral Students may apply to do so).

Doctoral Student Member ($48):

Any person who is currently enrolled in a doctoral program in a counseling program.

Retired Member ($40):
A retired member is a person who has been an ICA professional member for five consecutive years and who has retired from the counseling profession.

ICA Student/Retired - $40.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Renew automatically Thank you for joining ICA as a Student/Retired Member!

Please Note: In general, Student/Retired Members do not receive full ICA membership benefits, including CE credit for ICA-sponsored training, including the annual conference. Exceptions to this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Student Members generally do not receive full membership benefits, including the ability to hold ICA leadership positions. Further, Students cannot hold ICA leadership positions other than the Graduate Student Representative, per the ICA Bylaws. You may only be a student member for 2-3 years. It is up to each student to update their profiles.
