Proposals for Interest Sessions

Our next ICA Conference will be held October 25th and 26th, 2024 and we are excited to announce it will be fully in-person this year in Boise.  

All students, professional counselors, counselor educators and other mental health professionals are welcome and encouraged to submit proposals for sessions in all topic areas and session formats.

  All information will be sent out on the ICA listserv.  If you would like to be included on these emails please consider joining ICA.  All other questions can be directed to the Conference Chair.  

Conference Session Information

Half-Day Workshops

Half-Day Workshops are 4 hour blocks of instruction hosted concurrently on Friday and Saturday of this years conference.  

Conference Interest Sessions

Breakout sessions are 1.5 hours in length and will be held both Friday and Saturday.

ICA is no longer accepting proposals for the 2024 conference.  

If you have submitted a proposal, acceptance/rejection letters with further instructions will go out by August 15th, 2024.

Student Poster Presentations

Students will present in-person at the conference and will also be recorded and judged virtually.   The top 3 presentations will receive awards, as well as a special People's Choice Award will be determined at the conference.

ICA is not yet accepting Student Poster Presentation proposals for this conference.

Interested in Presenting???

All sessions will be reviewed in accordance with NBCC guidelines in order to provide CE credit for attendees.  

Sessions can be in panel, lecture, debate, demonstration or Q&A format in the following NBCC categories:

  • Counseling Theory/Practice and the Helping Relationship
  • Human Growth and Development
  • Social and Cultural Foundations
  • Group Dynamics and Counseling 
  • Career Development and Counseling
  • Assessment
  • Research and Program Evaluation
  • Counselor Professional Identity and Practice Issues.

To apply you will need Presenter Name, Credentials, Degree Field, Contact Information and Biography for all presenters (Up to 4 presenters).  Your will also need to provide program information to include Title of Program, Abstract (Limited to 50 Words), Summary of Program (Limited to 300 Words), Learning Objectives, NBCC category, Method of Presentation and sources.  

*Biographies must reflect qualifications to present on the subject matter.  

**Presentations will not include advertisements of personal businesses.

***Presenters must agree to the possibility of videotaping and photography of their presentation for ICA Marketing needs.  

****All information from the presentation must be concluded during allotted time.
