Advocating for our Clients Using Music, Movement, and Metaphor in Play Therapy

Part 2: Advocating for our Clients in Play Therapy through the Creative use of Music and Movement

Learn how music and sound intersect with play therapy to enhance treatment and outcomes with young, at-risk children. This workshop will explore music and movement from a Gestalt play therapy perspective. Participants will gain knowledge regarding the function of music and movement to strengthen a child's sense of self and support their ability to make better contact with their world.

Part 3: Advocating for our Clients in Play Therapy Through the Creative use of Metaphor

Effective parent consultations are critical in every play therapy practice. This interactive presentation focuses on engaging parents in the therapeutic process through the creative use of metaphor. This workshop will demonstrate how to assemble a kit of parenting metaphors that can be used to identify parenting strengths and challenges and assist in explaining the play therapy process.

4 hour workshop

Wednesday, January 24 - 1PM to 5PM
