Optum Wellness Room


Join Optum in the Wellness Room at the ICA Conference 2018

 

Optum is excited to announce the sponsorship of the Wellness Room at the ICA Conference to support the Idaho Counseling Association (ICA) and behavioral health clinicians across the State of Idaho.

 

Recharge

The Wellness Room will have a secure complimentary charging station where you can plug in your mobile devices and then head next door to rejuvenate yourself during the conference.

Optum staff will be available to share the benefits of joining the Optum network including comprehensive services for your clients, field support to you and your team and complimentary CEU based education courses that are offered exclusively to our network providers. Ask for a brief walkthrough on Live and Work Well which provides resources for your clients and Optum Health Education and Relias which provide complimentary access to an extensive health education library offering CEUs/CMEs as well as on-demand courses that can be taken at your convenience. We want to hear your feedback on how we can work to better meet the needs of Members.

 

Rejuvenate

The Wellness Room will provide panoramic views of downtown Boise where you can rest and rejuvenate throughout the conference sessions. A crackling digital fireplace, creative tables and plants will provide a serene backdrop while you rest in comfortable armchairs, enjoy a free chair massage, stretch on yoga mats, or attend complimentary 30 minute drop in classes on Mindfulness, Self Compassion, and Yoga provided by local clinicians in afternoon sessions.



 

Wellness Room will be located in Room 420, Boise Center on the Grove East

Mary Mandell


Mary Mandell is a 500 hour certified yoga instructor, life coach and founder of Yoga for Good and Whole Self Health.  Mary studied at that University of Wisconsin and received her B.S. degree with an emphasis on health and wellness.  She has spent countless hours attending seminars and studying wellness.  She believes a holistic approach connecting all aspects of one’s life...physical, mental, emotional, social and philosophical….is the key to a healthy and happy life. She brings a well-rounded methodology to her teaching instruction. Serious and enthusiastic about health, wellness and happiness, Mary brings a purposeful yet comfortable and upbeat spirit to her presentations.

Sharon Hammer

 

Sharon Hammer holds a Juris Doctorate, Master in Public Administration and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, an iRest Yoga Nidra Level 1 Teacher-in-Training and a member of the teaching staff of the Shanti Yoga Teacher Training Program located in Boise. At the 2016 ICA Annual Conference on Neuropsychology and Counseling Sharon received the 1st place Certificate of Excellence for her poster presentation on Yoga as a Treatment Modality for Trauma. Sharon spent twenty-five years working in law and local government prior to transitioning to counseling and teaching yoga. Sharon finds that many philosophical principles of yoga integrate well with her approach to counseling, including the development of self-compassion.
