IDAMFC Mission Statement

Upcoming Events

ICA Conference January 25-28, 2012
At ICA's conference IDAMFC will have a table with drawings for give-aways
 ICA will feature several MFC workshops this year IDAMFC's Distinguished
Presentation is by Drs. April Schottlekorb and Karrie Swan.  They will be
presenting a workshop on how to use a play therapy technique for family assessment. 
They are both licensed counselors and registered play therapists. 
 
April, 2012 IDAMF Workshop
"Back to the Basics of Family Counseling"
It will offer 6 CEUs, which includes 3 hours of Ethics CEUs. 
 
Workshop Description:

BACK TO THE BASICS:  Effective theory, strategy, and ethics for family counseling

Morning Session (9:00am-noon)

  • Systems theory overview
  • Conceptualizing family dynamics
  • Determining an effective treatment approach
  • Integration of family systems counseling with other theories
  • Practice of family intervention techniques

Afternoon Session (1:00-4:00)
Larry Lutz, MS, LCPC, LMFT, IDAMFC President-Elect
  • Ethical issues specific to families
  • Conceptualizing family dynamics
  • Dealing with family dynamics, custody, minors, confidentiality in families
  • Case examples and discussion
  • Application of ACA and IAMFC Ethical Codes
  • Participant case consultation

 
 
IDAMFC Summer Picnic
will be hosting a summer picnic for IDAMFC members and their families
just as schools are starting again.  We will have a picnic at a park in downtown
Boise and will also provide discounted tickets to the zoo.
