Hot Topics in Multicultural Counseling
The IMHCA spring ethics workshops will explore hot topics in multicultural competence and ethics. This three-hour workshop will explore how cultural phenomena can impact when, how, and why we employ our ethics as counselors. Topics include “undesirable populations” and referral/termination; cultural concerns surrounding confidentiality; and the specific ethical concerns surrounding emerging populations in need (e.g. veterans). Ethic Intelligence
This workshop will address how the ACA code of ethics has evolved to today’s standards based on case law. It will address issues regarding the legal aspects surrounding client confidentiality, specifically client suicide. Counselor burnout and maintaining professionalism will be included.

This fun and experiential 3 CE hour workshop addresses the most recent changes to the ACA Code of ethics and how they apply in real life to mental health practice. The areas that are affected are;
